I am on my third week without a refrigerator after three bungled service appointments, including wrong parts ordered and missteps that actually left my fridge in worse shape each time a "repair" person came. (My spouse is an electrical engineer, and saw one misstep after another.) They are overbooked so can't respond promptly, their own service person says. Another fellow made a huge mess of dirt and water on my wood floor. They cancel appointments with short notice and are rude when you complain. Overtime to help fix a mess they made? Of course not. Only used this company because I called Kitchenaid and needed dishwasher repaired and this was the company they had assigned. Dishwasher was not powering on. Technician from VIA services came out to home to do a "diagnostic." After taking attempting to diagnose the issue even taking off the circuit breaker panel, he (Eric) came to the conclusion that the unit is not receiving power. He advised that I get an electrician because the electrical issue lies somewhere between the circuit breaker and the unit. He guessed that the power wire needs to be repaired from the circuit breaker to the dishwasher. Eric charged me $120 for the trip fee. I called an electrician to come out the next day. The electrician saw that there was power to the outlet the unit was plugged into, but saw that the plug to the dishwasher wasn't fully inserted into the socket and (after an $180 service fee) then the dishwasher powered on. If I knew where the outlet was located for the dishwasher, perhaps I could have resolved the issue myself. After the $120 charge by Eric from VIA Services for "diagnostics", I would have expected that they could have easily figured out the issue. Even more so frustrating than dealing with the incompetent technician, I call VIA Services to inform them of the poor experience. I ask them what they can do to resolve my frustration for the time lost and their $120 trip and "diagnostic" fee. The only thing the could say was the robotic, repetitive response with "It's policy that we do not refund the $120 trip and diagnostic fee."
